Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Summary: Boring

I sat down with Jacob to have a geek fest and watch Clone Wars today, but I’ve had to walk away near the end.

I was getting bored to tears with all the talking.  I had such high expectations…

It’s finished now, and Jacob has just declared it disapointing also.

Sicko - Michael Moore

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Michaela and I have just finished watching Sicko, fantastic movie/documentry, that I’d been keen to watch for a while. Nic has an even better write-up so just read his (in full).

It has made me hesitant about working in the US, it seems illogical to go somewhere so messed up.  In fact I feel not so bullet-proof about my pending trip there.

I guess I’ll take it a day at atime, and hope for good luck, just like 30 million Americans.

Transformers

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

I watched Transformers tonight. Hmmm not sure. From a pure action and toy franchise perspective, it was cool.  Lots of transforming, guns, bullets and missiles.

The story plot was weak, to the extent of it would happen like that every other minute.

It has a PG13 rating, and in parts understandably. Without the parents at the door scene, I’d let the kids watch it. Well only Jacob would want to, but he’d love it. So it confuses me why an obviously boys movie, went down the American Pie humor path?

So from a fun action flick, yip it was fun, but I’m glad I didn’t pay full price and see it at the theatre.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend

Cheesy. Weak. But I still watched the second half on a different plane, just to find how it ended.
That’s about as much as I can be bothered saying.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

I quite enjoyed this movie. While been limited to poor headphones and small in-seat screen, I found the movie engaging. I must admit I lost track of the plot just at the end, so wasn’t sure why the ending was “dramatic”.

The CG was good. The girl (what ever her name is) seemed to find some cleavage from the prop department, but not enough, that it didn’t look like it was taped at the edge of her dress. Shrug.

All-in-all a golly pirate romp movie.
